The new album of Shonen Knife “Let’s Knife Re-Cut” will be released. This album is a newly recorded version of “Let’s Knife,” the band’s worldwide debut album, featuring the current members. The album’s original western success was famously due to Nirvana. In 1992 Kurt Cobain revealed his obsession with the Japanese trio, calling them ‘his favourite band’ and asking them to tour with him. Shonen Knife had never heard of Nirvana but eagerly took advantage of the opportunity. They quickly put together Let’s Knife out of their best songs, recording them in English and headed to the USA as national touring guests of Nirvana.
